Houston!!
We returned late Thursday night from the Houston Stock Show. It was BIG, it was loud, there was a bunch of traffic everywhere BUT it was a blast! Karli and Nolan did great showing their lambs, but we didn't get a pull or even a second glance. There were MANY good looking lambs there. It was definately the SUPERBOWL of stock shows. Here Nolan is with his cross. Bri is in the background.
The judge felt AND...moved on to never give Nolan's lamb another look. Then it was Karli's turn with her southdown.
They walked to the waiting area.
They walked into the show ring and looked great!
She set him up and waited for the judge to come by. AGAIN...we got a look and that was it. That's the way it goes at the Superbowl of stock shows. Both Karli and Nolan were disappointed, but we had fun working, feeding, and showing them. We are all ready for a rest from sheep! NOW...it was time to have fun family time. We went to Pappadeaux's for supper and ate an obscene amount of seafood. Then we headed home....taking the fun route...via CABELA's!!!
My guys are always looking for the BIG one and they found it there!
This one is for my dad. I remember riding in one of these as a little girl while he piloted us to the ranch. Looking, drooling and wishing that they could see one of these at our ranch.
Karli found herself a new hat...and a bearskin rug and of course "Alfred" the deer. YES, Alfred came home with us to take up residence on Karli's wall.
Both the kids were all smiles and enjoyed a day of fun. Ron and I had fun, too!!
